These are the most beautiful and panoramic trails to get to the Rifugio Città di Carpi.
The easiest and most comfortable way to get to the Città Di Carpi mountain hut.
It starts from the parking lot of the Col de Varda chairlift, going up a small, comfortable and easy hiking trail, with a splendid panorama of the Marmarole group and Sorapiss.
The alternative is to take the chairlift up to the Col de Varda hut and from there to get to our refuge in about 1 hour and 15 minutes, with very little elevation gain.
Starting from Lake Misurina, follow the road that leads to the Tre Cime di Lavaredo and park near the Campsite Alla Baita. From there take the path to the Fonda Savio hut (nr. 115) and choose between the three routes which, crossing the spectacular peaks and saddles of the Cadini, arrive to the Città di Carpi refuge.
From the car park of the old Albergo Cristallo in Federavecchia, go up through the woods until you cross the road that leads to Malga Maraia.
Just before reaching the malga, at a crossroads on the left, a sign will show you the path to follow to get to Rifugio Città di Carpi.
From the main road that connects Auronzo with Misurina, shortly after the town of Auronzo, take the road that climbs towards Val Marzon. After about 4 km of paved road, you reach the locality of La Crosera, from where you take the narrow road of Val d’Onge, which will take you to the Città di Carpi refuge in about 3 hours.
During the winter opening period it is possible to reach the hut on foot, on snowshoes or on mountaineering skis.
The path that starts from Lake Misurina climbs under the Col de Varda chairlift (since it is not possible to cross the ski slopes) and then reconnects with the summer route, i.e. path no. 120.
If you would like to take a longer tour, you can start from the old Cristallo Hotel in Federavecchia and reach our refuge on a groomed trail in about 3 hours. With a small detour it’s possible to take a break at Malga Maraia.
